CISVA Policies and Procedures exist for Education Committees to function effectively. The effectiveness of our Catholic schools is strengthened by clergy and lay people working together with faith and commitment for the education of our young people. It is very important, therefore, that those who accept the call to serve on an Education Committee understand the expectations of office and conduct themselves in a way that will foster collaboration and Christian community and put into practice the philosophy of Catholic education as promulgated by the Roman Catholic Bishops  of British Columbia. (CISVA POLICY 110)

The primary responsibility to keep up-to-date on policies relating to CISVA rests with each member of an Education Committee. These policies, which are available in electronic form on the CISVA website (www.cisva.bc.ca), provide much useful information on how CISVA schools are administered and run. It is incumbent upon all Education Committee members, particularly those new to the role, to familiarize themselves with these policies. They contain much pertinent information needed for Education Committee members to carry out their respective roles.  (CISVA POLICY 109)
